What you need to make this Herbed Cream Cheese Dip Recipe
Ingredient Tips
- Cheeses: To make your dip blend together well, leave your cheese out on the counter for 15 minutes before blending (if this tip came a bit too late, just be sure to blend for a little longer than you think so that the blender can warm the cheeses up)!
- For the feta, I’d recommend full fat here but if you’d like to use fat free, go ahead!
- Lemon: Use fresh lemon juice if you can.
- Variations: For some other fun flavor variations, blend in roasted red peppers, sun dried tomatoes, or spinach!
Ingredient Swaps
- Dairy free/vegan: Swap out the cream cheese for a plant based cream cheese (tofu blends tend to be very neutral) and find yourself a dairy free feta! It’s amazing what’s become available these days! If it’s in your grocery or fine foods store, give it a try!
- For those with lactose sensitivity/intolerance, note that feta is naturally low in lactose. So, if you’re able to tolerate feta, maybe just swap out the cream cheese for a plant based version!
- Herbs: I’ve used parsley and dill but if one or the other is not to your preference, try fresh basil, oregano, and/or fennel fronds.
- While fresh herbs are best for this recipe, if you need to use dried, use 1/3 of the amount called for fresh. (I.e., 1 Tbsp fresh = 1 tsp dried, or 1/4 cup fresh = 1 rounded Tbsp dried)
- Garlic powder: I like using garlic powder in this recipe because I think it blends better. However, if you prefer fresh, use one or two cloves depending on how garlicky you’d like the dip to be!

Recipe Notes + Expert Tips
- I suggest using a blender for this dip but a small food processor would work too!
- If you like your Creamy Herbed Feta Dip extra lemony, consider stirring in some lemon zest after blending. Start with the zest from half your lemon and go from there!
- Pair with sliced veggies and/or crostini for an appetizer. You can also try making your own pita chips; instead of using the chili spices, simply add salt and pepper (or your favorite spice mix) and bake as directed!
FAQ for this…
Cheese falls into the dairy group of foods and it is recommended by the USDA to have 3 servings of dairy per day. Dairy foods provide calcium, potassium, vitamin D, and protein, and not to mention, they’re very satisfying and delicious!
For most cheeses, the serving amount varies, but for a cheese like feta, the serving is one ounce (also note feta is a bit higher in sodium so take care if this applies to you). For cream cheese, which is a processed cheese, the serving is two ounces.
So, add a few ounces of cheese to your daily intake of delicious foods to keep your health on track! (PS. If you are vegan or choose not to eat cheese, don’t forget that fortified soy products, like soy milk, also count towards the dairy intake!)
Yes, this recipe is super versatile! To add to meal, served it up with my Air Fryer Falafel, Beet Falafel Tacos or on top of a Deluxe Veggie Sandwich! It can also be served on burgers and with veggie fries! Lastly, if you have leftovers (unlikely, but possible!), stir in a bit of milk to make a creamy salad dressing!
