At Any Moment Things Can Change for the Better – Shamonda Dunton, Nesting for One

At Any Moment Things Can Change for the Better - Shamonda Dunton, Nesting for One @bumpstobaby

    Happy New Year Warriors!

I’m so excited to continue the Warrior Women Wednesday series here on Bumps to Baby here in 2018! And, today’s Warrior is no exception to the amazing stories we’ve had shared here on the community over the last year.

So, friends, please join me in welcoming the wonderful Shamonda Dunton, warrior women and author of Nesting for One!

What is your story? Share as much or as little as you’d like!

I was diagnosed with endometriosis, ovarian fibroids, and blocked tubes in 2007.

How many years have you been on this journey?

Before diagnosis in 2007, 5 years of TTC. Today still TTC 15 yrs and counting. Ovulation calendars? We’ve kept plenty of ovulation calendars throughout the years. Now, track ovulation via Ovia Fertility app. We’ve never used an IUI or IVF cycle.

    How has infertility changed you?

Infertility has changed me for the better, to realize that I should be grateful for what I already have (hence my husband & family) rather than focusing on what I do not have YET! I am more courageous to encourage other women who are too going through infertility challenges. I went through my journey by myself along with my husband. No other women were by my side, most were asking questions instead of providing support. So, it’s good to be that “certain” woman to lend an ear for another while their nights are long.

What advice do you have to women with infertility?

To not focus on what you do not have YET, enjoy life as it is right now. And believe at any moment things can change for the better but until then LAUGH and LOVE!

What is your favorite quote to pick you up?

    “My womb is captivating!”

    Favorite Warrior Song?

I have two…Bravo by Ledisi and Rooftops by Jesus Culture

Favorite Healthy Recipe That Brings You Comfort?

My mom’s vegetable soup, it’s the best thing since sliced bread, I promise you. She makes it with all the veggies she can find, with a little meat, tomato sauce, and whole lotta love!!

Thank you so much Shamonda for sharing your story. We are pulling for you!

Sending you lots of love and baby dust my friends!

    Liz
