Rinse Brussels sprouts under cool, running water in a colander and pat dry. Slice in half and toss with 2 teaspoons of sesame oil. Place in air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes at 370 degrees F. Bump temperature up after 10 minutes to 400 degrees F and finish cooking for 5 to 7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
While air fryer is cooking the sprouts, make the dressing by whisking the remaining ingredients together. Optional to leave out red pepper flakes if you would like to decrease spice. Set aside.
When cooking completes, toss the dressing over the sprouts and serve immediately.
If you have a larger batch and know you will have leftovers, portion out the dressing by tossing a teaspoon or two over desired Brussels sprout amount, then reserve the rest for later.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and consume within 3 days for best quality. Reheat in the air fryer at 370 degrees F for 3 to 5 minutes.
Notes
Place the frozen Brussels sprouts in a colander to help rinse then first. This helps "wake them up" from being in the freezer and get off any ice debris that could potentially make a soggy end product if placed in the air fryer.
Then, take the 2 to 4 minutes and slice them in half! It's totally worth it for helping them cook evenly in a shorter amount of time.
Note, if you like a more crispy texture, simply extend their time in the air fryer. I recommend not bumping up the air fryer temp until at least 10 minutes of cooking has happened to prevent burning or over-charring.
When making the miso dressing, if you crew is not big on spice, reserve the red pepper flakes for an optional topping.
Remember air fryer temperatures vary slightly based on the model and basket type. So, until you get to know your own air fryer, keep an eye on the recipe you're trying out to prevent burning until you know how to modify the time for each specific recipe you're making! Don't worry, it's usually just a minute or two!
