Margaret Thatcher once said, “You have to fight a battle more than once to win it.” Well said Margaret! Though these words of wisdom can really apply to many aspects of your life, to me they remind me of the popular “war over weight” so many find themselves engulfed in.
Since May is National Recommitment Month, I thought it was prime time to chat about those New Year’s Resolutions that have been up and running for 5 solid months now…right? I’m willing to bet that passion and drive that got you started has somewhat teetered over the last month and your fire may need a little kindling. Don’t worry, I am the first to admit it… mine has too!
I decided today was going to be the day to shake the snooze button and start on the right track. Why? Partly because my mood improves when I workout on a schedule (you’re welcome Wayne), but also because I realized in 365 days I will be standing next to my beautiful sister and soon to be brother as they say theirs vows. #Realtalk… it’s their day, yes… but I want to look good too! Those photos will be around for a lifetime.

To find that fight inside me, I turned to my good friend Jillian and her Cardio Blast Workout. I found this gem during a brutal winter in Chicago and it has gotten me through some major slumps. In less than 45 minutes, this high intensity workout will have you sweating and burning from using YOUR OWN BODY WEIGHT.
I am not going to say it’s easy waking up to sneak in a workout before a long day at work, but I can tell you it’s worth it. Not only am I happier, but healthier as well. Studies show working out and making better choices in the morning sets your day up for success. Point proven… I went from having a mid morning jalapeno bagel on Wednesday to fresh strawberries today. Simple-swap, I think so!
